in France
Am now in France with the weather turning autumnal. we drink lots of tea and work on our mastery of the local lingo. i got a friend to translate one of the songs to French from the latest album - Heart of Misery - it sounds great but i need to work on the pronunciation. We write songs and prepare for our gig on 30 September in London where I will again return. At 12bar club in the Westend. I shall give all the info forthwith.

The process...
...of producing a CD album is traumatic on some level. releasing your little birds to the world where they might mate up or be dashed against a steel bridge in a storm. Are they ready? Are they strong enough yet? Am i being too controlling?
So there's a secret back catalogue of possibly ones finest work that is kept hidden under the dusty bed till it's removed enough in time for you to like it for what it is and eventually it gets released. a little stunted and archaic and charming.
That's the next thing i'm putting out after FLAX HAPPY - some forgotten silver that will become digital noise if it's not used soon!

Kristen Hersh gig
Steve and Gareth Thomas opened for the slight and brilliant Kristen Hersh in Auckland (14/10/07). It was a superb gig! Thanks to Matt, Gordon and Jim of Galesburg for the invite.

The Kraken Wakes
by Alfred Lord Tennyson
Below the thunders of the upper deep,
Far far beneath in the abysmal sea,
His ancient, dreamless, uninvaded sleep
The Kraken sleepeth: faintest sunlights flee
About his shadowy sides: above him swell
Huge sponges of millennial growth and height;
And far away into the sickly light,
From many a wondrous grot and secret cell
Unnumbered and enormous polypi
Winnow with giant arms the slumbering green.
There hath he lain for ages and will lie
Battening upon huge seaworms in his sleep,
Until the latter fire shall heat the deep;
Then once by men and angels to be seen,
In roaring he shall rise and on the surface die.

Bressa Power
Ed Cake (of Bressa Creeting Cake) carefully runs a test line down from the power pole while Geoff Creeting and Joel Bressa take notes from the power diagnosis equipment. Due to Track Recording studio's weather-lashed beach side location, power problems occasionally pop up, but are quickly fixed with the help of expensive diagnostic gear.
