Steve Abel & The Chrysalids

Duet (Lonely I be)

by Steve Abel

Where is your beautiful heart?
Not yet set free
But how do you go these days?
Lonely I be

I was a shepherd yet I am lost
I was a rock that crumbled to dust
So sure footed yet I stumbled and fell
I was a deep ocean now a pale wishing well

Sands pass before silent eyes
Snow drifts in around the eves and the sides
You were a drunken spirit following the winds desire
And you were a new petal floating on an angel sigh

Where is your beautiful heart?
Not yet set free
But how do you go these days?
Lonely I be

Lonely I be
